Is my mixer shower faulty? - drawing cold from loop
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.31 PM
I had a Instinct ECO bar mixer shower installed in October last year. Since that installation when the shower is off the hot water taps in the rest of the house often run colder. I've just had the boiler man out and we identified that once the hot water has left the boiler, cold water is mixing with it and thus cooling it down. My question is, regardless of how the pipework has been completed should the shower itself prevent drawing cold water into the hot water pipes?

9/10 times it is a mixer shower that is allowing water to mix in the system if the valves have failed within the shower. if you can i would isolate the feeds to the shower valve to test the system without water running to the shower. if the issue stops you know its the shower.
but if you have other items that mix such as mixer taps you may need to repeat this process till you identify the offending mixer.
