Electrical

Power to summerhouses

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.00 PM

I have had an electric cable connected to the house ring main leading to a 13amp metal socket in a small summerhouse. What certification, if any, is required? The work was done by an approved contractor Part P , member of ECA and TrustMark, but only gave me a bill on completion.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello, You'd need a minor electrical works certificate from the installer, on that they should state scope of works carried out and on which circuit. Hopefully the socket they spurred off of is RCD protected to provide automatic disconnection of supply and the cable is mechanically protected. All of which should be listed on a minor works. Hope that helps, all the best. Dan
