Damp Proofing

I have mould apeparing in 2 bedrooms which are against my gable wall - Old end terraced house.

The mould is appearing behind the wardrobes only. In the recesses of the chimney breast where there is a wardrobe. there is one recess where there is no wardbrobe, and there is no damop here???? I am thinking this is a result of poor ventilation - also i think the chimney may be bloacked in one of the downstairs rooms as an electric fire was plastered into the fireplace. I am wondering if placing 2 airbricks on the outside gable end where the bedrooms are would help? any advice greatly received

Ventilation will help but it sounds like your chimney may be leaking with the water coming down the walls and causing the danp

The previous answer could be a possibility but behind the wardrobes would definitely be made worse by having poor circulation around the furniture. Try leaving a 3 inch gap behind the wardrobes, also treat any mould as this will not go away without treating.
