Electrical

Single to Double Oven

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

I have a single electric undercounter oven that needs replacing and I would like to get a double oven in it's place. I read that a separate electric supply is required. I have checked my fuse box and it is wired separately though is on the red / lighting side of the fuse box will this be OK for a double oven? (There are no free slots left on green side of the box).

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Total load of cooker supply not exceeding 15ka is acceptable for a standard 32a 6mm supply as per appendix H4 on site guide. NOTE: To spark,s this is a fact. Feel free to check your on site guide first before looking silly. Replacing an appliance is not notifiable but I would always recommend being done by a competent person(definition being suitably qualified or trained) Upgrading the circuit to be RCD protected is not mandatory but should be generally recommended in my opinion.
