Refurbishment of a 3-bed house
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.35 PM
Hi, I am about to buy a 3-bed house. House has central warm air system. Here are the changes I would like to do before moving in: - Building a single storey extension around 3m X 5m - Fitting a new kitchen - Replacing warm air system with a new central heating - Building a porch to entrance - Changing bath tube - Building a downstairs loo - Rewiring and repainting of full house - New carpets for rooms How long will it take to finish all work? Thanks.

It all depends on your budget, material choices, weather and design.
There are many factors with good management, builders and customer communication then the time frame can be factored in with your schedule of works. There are so many variables.

The above contractor is correct however provided the budget is in place and the weather is kind I would advise one of my customers that an 8-10 week slot would be a realistic for a project of this size.

Good evening,
I agree with both former comments. There are too many variables indeed, and refurbishment works can take longer than initially anticipated due to hidden issues/problems with a property that only come to light when one starts stripping out!
Saying that, I believe 8-10 weeks is a good call.
Hope this helps.
