how to get nice fitting cuts on internal and external skirting

Hi, firstly most walls as there done by hand (plastering etc) are not square !!
so dont be suprised.
For an internal corner fit 1 pice straight cut into the corner flush. the second length butts up to it with the shape of the skirting cut into it with a coping saw. For the external corner this should be at 45% but you may have to ajust this dependant on the wall angle. Use a bevel to find this.

Hello Grace. External us a mitre box or chop saw. internal use a scribe or cut at 45 degrees and us a coping saw to cut out line and will fit snug being the wall is plumb. If need more advice contact me on this website.

External corners should be mitered, internal corners should have one board cut square and the second board should be scribed to the shape of the skirting to give a good fit. Andy

It's best to scribe the internal cuts and mirtre external cuts . To get your scribe .cut the skirting at 45 angle then follow the shap of the skirting

Hi always butt and scribe skirtings for internal mitres and mitred angles for external corners .you can mitre bond glue the external joins together so they are perfect tight fit
