Plumbing

water pressure to low need advice please

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

Hi we have recently been renovating our house and have installed a shower with body 6 body jets this is all fed from a combi boiler. with the shower main head running its fine if we want to use the body jets only 4 of them run and the top two trickle this also reduces the main head to a trickle as well. I am a ground worker and thought that replacing the lead mains to MPDE would increase the pressure I have used 25mm MPDE on the mains coming in right back to the boundary of our property but this has made very little difference. So my question is would a Salamander pump solve my problem and is it ok to use one of these pumps in conjunction with a combi boiler boiler is an ideal independent C24. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks Rob

You need to find your incoming flow rate and pressure at the 1st outlet then refer to manufacturers instructions for the shower and in there it will tell you the minimum water pressure needed for the shower to work at its full potential. Unfortunately if you have a low water pressure in the road to the property then a long run around your property to the shower there isn't a lot you can do to increase the pressure to the shower. Without seeing the issue and the system you are running it's hard to give best advice. But you can't fit a pump on a combi boiler system. Regards Matthew
