Plumbing

Mid terrace. Adding a downstairs shower room with toilet. Soil pipe on the other end.

We have a small storage room right next to the kitchen, which we would like to convert to a shower room with toilet and basin. The soil pipe is on the other side of the kitchen, hidden in a boxed on the wall. So to connect to the soil pipe, we have to go under the kitchen unit which currently has a hob on it. We had a few builders came in and only one said he can dig out the ground to allow the fall that is needed for a normal toilet. Others all said it is a much bigger project and better to go with the saniflow option. We would definitely prefer a normal toilet and wouldn’t mind paying extra for it. But I’m worried that is digging up the ground (which goes through our kitchen) a sensible thing to do? Are the other builders just being lazy or they have a good reason to avoid it? Another thing is we would like to install a shower pump and were told by most plumbers it needs to be in the upstairs airing cupboard where the hot water tank is. Worrying about the noise of the pump, is it possible to fit it downstairs right below where the tank is so it can touch the concrete floor? We have a gravity fed system Thanks!

You or we can just install a saniflow and then connect it with a t-joint in your kitchen.
