Can you get paint out of a carpet?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.00 PM

I managed to spill paint down our stairs (red paint on a cream/beige carpet). is it possible to get the paint out without having to replace the carpet?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You will require a high quality carpet cleaner and a very good carpet shampoo. Most of the dry clean shop keep high quality carpet cleaner. You can hire it for a day or a week. If you use it twice it should do the job.

In my opinion you will never get it out, if its oil based you can clean it with paint brush cleaner and then water, if its water based just keep scrubbing it with warm water but the dyes would of dyed the carpet. good luck. jim
