Cladding over thermalite blocks

Fixing battens to thermalite blocks to take weatherboard have concrete plug less screws . Any ideas of a better way ? Thanks

Use brown plugs and 60mm screws.
Make sure you put a membrane between the blocks and batons as thermalite blocks are porous.

Use screws and plugs definitely. Also using a membrane between the blocks and the batons
