i have new central heating and all plumbing. i have a bumping noise in the pipes which is random, and sounds in different places of the house.

the noise is random, quietish to very noisy. and also occurrs in the outside wc. it is like pressure is building up then suddenly closing a valve similar to the drop valve wc upstairs. but it occurs when no water is running. ie. no central heating on etc.

This can be a tricky one as there may be several contributing factors. A survey of pressure, flow and pipe topology may shed some light on the cause.

probably pipe expansion over floor joists. maybe cut outs are too tight or could have been helped with thin insulation material between pipes and timber.

Could also be a installing error. Alot of systems need to have a automatic by pass valve fitted and is often not done. If this isn't installed you can definitely get a thudding notice that can echo throughout the whole system
