Damp patch still appears after roof repair

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

Two years ago we had a problem with a damp patch in the top corner of an upstairs bedroom. We had a roofer come out and he removed a redundant chimney above the area and re slated it.The damp patch has returned in the same area and seem to have extended down the wall. What could the possible cause be.

Hi there Even though you had the roof sorted, there would still have been a large amount of moisture in the brickwork, so if you had this area re-plastered it would of depended on whether the plasterer used a good water proof sand and cement and hacked enough plaster off as the old moisture will still travel down regards Joseph
