Can you purchase door closers for external french doors

We are having external french doors installed. Am I able to purchase door closers for them? Either going on the top or the side of the door?

If its hinge french door you can add door closer at the top or perko door closer which does not show will fit inside the door in the middle.

Yes you can but for French/double doors a door selector may also be required to prevent damage to the rebate or lock from the wrong door closing first.
