Plastering & Rendering

How long before you do a mist coat or reseal.

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.16 PM

Hello how long do you have to leave plaster to dry before you do a mist coat or sealant. My friend advised 6 months but that seems an awfully long time. any help would be welcome. Many thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there It depends on what type of plaster and the drying times, for standard multi finish plasters as soon as its dry (about a week/two depending on the time of year and a good indicator is when the plaster is all the same colour no dark spots

6 months!!??...do not listen to that advice...a good decorator will advise, but usually a week or two after, depending on drying conditions, etc...thanks paul
