Washing machine waste water in dishwater

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.34 PM

We have had a new washer dryer fitted and somehow waste water from washing machine is filling in dish washer. I have checked connections in the waste pipe for both appliances and they seemed fine to me. The waste pipe for new machine has been fitted where the old one was. Can anyone advice why this would happen? The water is leaking from dishwasher as it is becoming full as a result of this.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

if it has been plumbed correctly then possibly a block pipe further down stream to the connections of dishwasher and washing machine Dave

I assume that the appliances are discharging into spigots under the kitchen sink rather than a conventional washing machine waste pipe. If so then make sure that the end of the dishwasher waste attached to the spigot rises from the spigot. i.e. the last bit of the waste pipe before the spigot should run downhill.
