New carpet / new door / what order?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.59 PM
Hello, The upstairs of my terraced house needs a new carpet (old carpet and underlay have been removed), it also needs 3 new doors (old doors in situ), the door frames also need painting. Should I get new doors fitted before the carpet? Or the carpet before the doors? Thanks!

Hello
It doesn't really matter. If you get the doors fitted first and painted then they may need to come back off when the carpet is fitted and plained on the bottom edge to stop drag on the carpet.

Paint and hang the doors first, if you have a sample of the carpet and underlay mark the doors using them and use a track saw to cut the doors.
