Hole on outside wall from scaffolding

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.16 PM

We've got 4 holes - size of a bottle cap - on the external wall of our building from where scaffolding was screwed in. Do we need specialized decorators/painters to have these filled? Who do we contact for this sort of work? Thanks.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Contact the scaffolding co that made the holes, Get them back to repair it. Any damage to a property made by a contractor should be repaired at no cost to your selves.Get CAB to write to them. Seems they aint very good by not telling you this and offering to fix it for you.

Hello, am I right in saying it is a timber framed house?? You would be better of replacing the damaged materials (brick or stone, block) how high are the holes? I'd say you need a bricklayer for the job

Or, you could ask the scaffolders for the proprietary plugs for the holes, which is what they usually do. This way, I believe you can re-use the holes for future scaffolding works. Many Thanks, Jason.

Just use toupret external filler its an external masonry filler and would be prefect for the holes you describe, use just like an internal filler. Any screwfix or any good decoration merchants would stock it (not BandQ) Costs £10 for a small pack which is all you will need after 24 hours once dry sand down and paint if required.
