Can we fit a 'fake' chimney breast to a woodburner with external chimney stack
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 2.40 PM
We recently bought a house with a multifuel burner already fitted. The chimney stack is on the exterior as is the access to sweep it. The house is 1990's built. We wanted to try and add a bit of character by putting a chimney breast in to make a feature of the woodburner. We wouldn't want to move the burner in any way. How would be possible to do this and how would be go about it?

I am assuming your stove is sat in front of a blank wall.
You can build a 100mm feature wall, make sure your building onto solid base, you can build it in brick or stone, if you use a timber lintol make sure it is not near the stove.
There are loads of designs and materials, so best to look on a few sites or magazines to give you some ideas.
