Calculations for slab foundation

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

Hi I'm currently planning a build of an out building 6m x 7m. Single storey. Double skin concrete walls. I was planning for a slab foundation. 4 inch of type 1 aggregate, 6 inches of concrete. I've called building control today and they are asking for calculations for the slab to justify its dimensions by a suitable professional. Can anyone advise if this is standard practice? It's a massive extra cost to go to an engineer of some kind. Any advice is hugely appreciated. Gavin
