Plumbing

I would like to move a internal SVP to save space in the bathroom (chase into wall)

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.16 PM

The existing internally fitted Soil and Vent pipe runs through the property, ground floor behind a small wooden cupboard, which allows easy access if needed. The SVP then runs through the main upstairs bathroom (where it is, boxed in) and then through to above the roof to vent. (flat roof). By looking in the downstairs cupboard SVP is plastic and looks to be 110mm diameter. The main bathroom is very small (1.75m wide x 1.69m long) so having a boxed in pipe that is taking 20cm (Depth) x 25cm (Wide) limits what can be done. I was trying to work out a better solution to limit the impact the SVP has on the bathroom. Would moving it and chase it into the bathroom wall upstairs work? Down stairs there is 18 cm between the pipe and the internal wall (which is weird, considering upstairs)

you could get a plumber in to cut pipe out and fit durgo valve which acts like a vent then it only has to be as high as basin thus doing away with rest of pipe
