Plastering & Rendering

corking around a door frame

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

I recently had a conservatory wall plastered. the plasterer has left the edging all around the patio doors unfinished, with a metal framework showing and empty holes in the plaster all around the frame. he has said it is because i did not pay for corking and i need to do that myself? could anyone explain what this is and if that is fair?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Cant explain it as a plasterer generally plasters the reveal up to the door should be in the price he gave. When decorating its a good idea to run a bead of caulk around the joint between frame and plaster as you may get hair line cracks as it dries out. So in my opinion no its not fair sorry Hope this has helped Adam
