Bridged damp course
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.58 PM
The alley between my house and the separate garage is concreted. The concrete runs very close to, and in some places a centimetre above, the damp course for the garage (the house is fine). Should I try to dig the edge of the concrete up neatly so it doesn't bridge the damp course, can I inject the bricks to make an artificial DC or what other possibilities are there?

I would recommend taking up the path and re laying it at least 150mm
below damp proof course if possible.
If that's not possible maybe cutting out a channel along side problem wall
and fitting Aco drain channels or similar.

If you got lots of Money dig up and relay the concrete path to be sure ,but you say the house is fine so maybe you worrying too much, you could run a still saw down the edge to create a groove creating separation and refill will a tar type sealant there are plenty of different ones available
