Cost of moving a gas cooker

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

I need to move my gas cooker from one side of the room to the other. I've calculated this will need just under 5m of new pipe and there are 3 corners to go round. The new pipe will have to go along the skirting board and not under the floor. How much would this cost? Thanks.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

This is an age old question, how much does a job cost, and the cost varies on the amount of time materials and equipment required to complete the job. Depending on the amount of appliances within a building, example a combi boiler and gas fires. the pipe size will be calculated to be able to satisfy all appliances working at full gas rate. Usually the cooker would have three rings on full. it may require that the pipework may require up sizing from the meter. Once the pipe size is determined. the pipe work will have to be assessed for the best run to the new position. Then the position of the bayonet fitting will have to correspond to the manufacturers instructions, with a backplate elbow angled bayonet fitting and chain. The pipework will be clipped at the stated positions from gas safe installations. If the pipework has to pass through units or walls it require sleeving. This is only a small list of what may be required. The usual way is either labour per hour or a price for the work complete with all materials. Labour is an individual price per gas engineer. Materials in gas work are expensive, from clips to fittings to copper pipe. So in answer to your question how much does it cost. get quotes usually three for the work from Gas Safe registered engineers. I hope this is of help regards Alan Combigas
