Installation of new boiler

Does the gas meter need to be stripped as part of the installation of a new boiler? British Gas told me that it does but the plumber installing a new Worcester Bosch combi boiler said it doesn't.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi
A Gas Meter never needs to be stripped, it may need works to make it compliant i.e. removal of any lead pipe work, but never stripped.
