Plastering & Rendering

Gypsum Fexi-fill or plaster

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.31 PM

Hi, I have a builder doing 3 rooms .. he has used gypsum easi-fill mixed in with water and PVA to plaster my dining room. Is easi-fill best thing to use? I would appreciate advise/recommendations as I have no idea if he is using the correct material.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I thought i'd seen it all on MyBuilder, but that has to be the worst method of plastering i've ever heard of. You must have some idea he isn't doing things right otherwise you wouldn't be on here asking. My advice: Get rid of him and get a PLASTERER in who knows what they are doing. Carl.

hi there any plasterer worth his salt would simply pva the walls/ceiling first then apply 2 coats of gypsum finish plaster that would be common practice anyway sounds like he's trying to make the job harder for himself regards andy expand-it construction

Hi, I dont know if you are the same person, but a thread exactly like this is on the diy donuts site. If it is the same, you havent mentioned to the lads here, that the polish guy came back, sanded the easi fill, then gave it another coat, after that he used multi finish, you have now sacked him, and Chris is going to sort it. Heard it all now. You should have suspected something, doing 3 rooms for £600 You can leave feedback for him, as hes on this site.

Did you ask for the room to be plastered or filled ,if you asked for the room to be plastered then you use plaster multi finish with unibond first. if you ask for the room to be filled (cracks and holes)then easy fill is a good material,as a plasterer i would use plaster but it depends on what you agreed with the builder or what he quoted to do regards joseph
