Can you put a plastic pipe into a lead pipe for a bathroom?

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

Hi Just wanted to know if this can be done. Old flat with a big lead pipe that leads to the exit of the building. The pipe is constantly being blocked and is fragile. Is it possible to put a slightly smaller plastic pipe into this lead pipe? Plunging and one shot cause leaks when the plastic meets the lead, etc. If a plastic pipe is put inside than the lead sealed up around the plastic pipe is this a better way? Thank you!!!!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You can join them using a gator which is like a rubber pipe which has jubilee clips each side to seal join.
