Front garden wall re-bult under a year ago needs rebuilding again
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.33 PM
Had a sole trader in who re-built my front brick wall less than a year previous. The morter has cracked along the face of the wall along with the morter that was holding the iron railings & gate in place. Wall needs re-building. Can't get him to commit to correcting the work & would like to know what the minimum expectation is on guaranteeing work of this kind.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

it should not be cracking or need rebuilding for many years, sounds like a poor job has been done, weak mix would cause it.

Sounds like the gates are too heavy for the wall. The wall should have pillars on the ends to carry the gates. The size of which depends on the weight and movement of the gates.
