How much it costs to install mains powered smoke/fire alarms to a one storey, 1970's house? it is a 4 bedroom house with garage, around 120sqm. the fuse box is located in the garage (part of the property ground floor). ground floor comprises of kitchen/dinner, cloakroom and separate living room. upstairs four bedrooms and a bathroom. It would all depend on how many rooms and how many detectors are needed and how the alarms would be installed. Almost impossible to quote jobs like this without looking.

If this is a single storey house it would require 3, the wiring needs to be tallied up though. An approximate cost without getting all the specifics etc.. would be in the region of £500 parts and labour.
