Disconnection of old pipes
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.32 PM
I recently moved into a property and I am having a new kitchen fitted. There was 2 old gas pipes that I think was from a cooker and a radiator, sticking out of the ground , a gas man came and put me a new gas cooker pipe in and just cut the other ones down to floor level and did not cap or seal them now I'm worried in case I turn the heating on I may get a leak and I don't want to cover the pipes up with a new floor, could I have some advice please

I would say get a gas safe engineer in to check them, look on there website for one.
also you don't have gas to radiators it could be heating pipes maybe.
and if hes connected the hob already there would be gas already coming out
hope that helps

Go to the gas safe register and always employ the right person for the job required, all too often you use unqualified personnel and the job goes all wrong, it takes a little extra time to do jobs correctly but you must use and expect tp pay for quality work and advice, if you want it on the cheap go down the pub and speak to the guys !! good luck
