Monobloc Mixer Tap

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

I have recently had monobloc basin + mixer tap installed in bathroom - cold flow is strong but hot flow is severely compromised to a paltry trickle. Cold feed from overhead mains tank (approx.2m above); hot feed from immersion in basement (approx.2m below) but fed from same mains tank as cold. No problem with water pressure before and I see from other posts that bore in all new mixer taps is much smaller than before - why cant the braided threads be swapped for wider bore????? Does anyone in the trade know of a reliable brand of mixer tap that gives even a half decent flow in the circumstances above because I can't afford to swap a monobloc basin back to a double tap basin to get back to what I had before.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Is the cold feed actually from stored water sounds like it might be mains water .The problem today is many taps ect are intended for higher pressures and before items are purchased the actual pressure of the installation should be checked, and the taps being supplied by equal water pressure. The ceramic discs do have a smaller opening in the seating where as the washer system had a bigger bore and operated on low pressure installations. Whether you can find low pressure monobloc is another matter Wish you well Dave Ward
