Low Hot Water Pressure - Unvented Pressure Cylinder recommended?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.32 PM
We have three showers 2 bar mixers and 1 electric upstairs. Our water sytem is hot water tank in hotpress, cold water tank in attic. The hot water to the mixer showers is woeful and is just a trickle. Cold pressure is ok to sinks etc. So I have checked out the shower hoses and descaled the heads in case they were blocked but its no improvement. Weve been recommended to install an unvented pressure cylinder which will do away with cold water tank in attic. So will this improve things and does it sound like the right remedy to our situation?

Are the cold taps fed from the cold water storage tank or have they already been converted to mains? Could be due to a poor head on the cold water storage tank or the pipes could just be scaled up, if is is scaled, converting onto an unvented system would help a little but it still wouldn't change the fact that you'll have to rerun all the hot supplies again! is it an old system?
