Depth of internal wall for sink plumbing
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.32 PM
I want to fit an understairs toilet and wash basin. I'd like to fit the new sink against an internal (hollow) wall. There's a radiator on the opposite side of the wall so I know there's plumbing access under the floor boards. But how much wall depth do I need to hide the sink plumbing?

1.25" is the diameter of the waste pipe needed.

Hi there .inch and quarter is the size of the minimum waste requirements but you should allow for hot and cold pipes to pass by the waste .2inches or 100my would be enough.also a waste pipe will be needed close,if not you could get around this with a Saniflow or similar pumped waste unit which can take the waste water away with a minimum size of 22mm.

I would leave 1.5-2" just to be on the safe side and to give some space for waste pipe clips to be installed
