Replacement of engineered wood flooring under cabinets - Insurance Job
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.14 PM
Hi guys, I've had a water leak in the kitchen which has damaged the flooring. The insurance company have agreed to repair, like for like. Currently the flooring goes all the way under the kitchen cabinets to the walls. The company who are going to be doing the repairs want to support the worktops, remove the cabinets, replace the flooring and then refit the cabinets. Is this a good idea? I'd be surprised if the worktop can be supported adequately to ensure that no joints crack even slightly.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

That`s just Nuts, and i think you already know it is :-) they`re probably trying to avoid taking the sink & hob out and maybe there's some tiling above the worktops they don't want to disturb, but seriously that sounds a ridiculous idea :-/

HI,
Go back to insurance company, check your scope of works. If you don't have a copy ask your insurance company.
I hope this helps.
