How do seal thread on bar mixer fixing plate

This thread can be problematic, particularly on badly manufactured components but in 30 years i have never had one that could not be sealed with ptfe alone. Make sure you have standard tape, not gas, wind it on under tension in the direction of the male thread (as if you are screwing a nut onto the thread) start with 4 turns and add 4 at a time if needed. Watching someone tape up a thread is a sure fire way of knowing if he is an experienced plumber or not, plumbers make it look very easy and it is but it does have to be done correctly or not at all.
