Job description
i have had a new toilet fitted but it does not flush away poos. I have to use a bucket of water to get it to flush? I have opened the inspection plate at bottom of the down pipe outside and can see the water coming down when the toilet is flushed but it doesn't seem to be a great volume just running water don't know if this is right or not. I have also noticed when I take the cover off the built in sistern I can see that the toilet enters into grey plastic pipe before it reaches the old cast down pipe and that there is no seal at this point the sides are open? I thought there should be a rubber seal round the pipe. Could this be the problem? Does it need to be sealed for pressure or vacuum purposes? Any advise would be appreciated.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
Hi Bob check the water level in the cistern its normally marked on the back of the cistern if low then adjust the water level on the ball valve. If that ok check the method of the dual flush syphon it may be flushing on the low level flush. Another problem that as reared its head is that so much has been made abroad as is not compatible with our system I have rejected pans that did have such as small exit at the bottom of the pan and as you mentioned some pan worked on a syphonic system,Cant comment on the way you describe plastic to cast iron but rest assured that all joints must be sealed. Lastly if the problem still exist remove pan and just look for obstruction at that point as you may had has a mickey mouse flexible pan connector fitted which I have know these to bend upwards causing problems Hope this assistsDave

You need to check the level of water in your cistern. The volume of water can be increased on your filling valve.

Check your water level in the cistern. I could also be your float valve sticking so not filling correctly. Also your flush valve could not be seated properly so not getting a full flush. I'd have to have a look to comment any further.
