Gas Work

Is it ok to have a boiler (not a combi) installed in the loft?

We would like our broken boiler removed from the kitchen and replaced with a mega flow boiler in the loft. We currently have a tank in the airing cupboard which will also need to be replaced.

Yes you can but a couple of things you need to bear in mind;

1. If Gravity Fed then your Header Tank needs to be higher than your Boiler

or

2. Convert your Boiler Heating System into a Pressurised System and then no requirement for Header Tanks or Cold Water Storage Tanks.

Hi,
Yes it is possible to fit a boiler in your attic so long as you provide light, good access ie floored and loft ladder. You are best getting an unvented cylinder if you are putting in the attic to give you decent pressure
