Replacing water pipe from the pavement to the house

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

I am in the process of digging a trench (75 cm deep) from the house to the pavement for the new pipe. Half way to the garden i came across the electricity cable at around 60cm deep. What is the right course of action? 1/ Dig 15 below the cable and lay the plastic water pipe at 75cm deep? 2/ Put the pipe above the cable (55cm deep) 3/ Dig well below the cable (i.e. 35 cm away from the cable, total depth of the trench 110+ cm. 4/ Do not cross the utilities, i.e. dig parallel to the electricity cable. However by doing that i will not be able to go near to the the current outside stopcock. Thanks in advance

The water company decides the depth of the new water main so I believe the 750mm is correct so just dig below and go under the main cable then back to 750 .Ps you will need water company to inspect new main and fittings.

Just lay the pipe between 750mm and 1350mm. This will protect the pipe against mechanical damages. If the depth from the floor level is less than 750mm protect the pipe against freeze. No fittings can be buried into the ground.
