Black gloss quartz and resin tiles online quality

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.57 PM

Hi, I want floor tiles for my new kitchen and like the black gloss quartz and resin ones with shards of glass or mirror that sparkle. (30x30). Went to Topps Tiles and they wanted around £10.40 per tile, whereas Tile Giant wanted £8.59. Topps Tiles wouldn't price match despite claiming to on their website. But Topps Tiles claim to buy back any unused ones even singles, whereas Tile Giant won't, not even if a full box. Had a look online and it appears I can get the same tile a lot cheaper there: Tons of Tiles £7.66, Walls and Floors £4.36, Tile Magic £3.64, Stone Trader £4.40. How can I tell the quality of these online ones, as one website says they won't price match these tiles because the quality of these tiles vary so much? I bought a sample from Tile Giant and it looks fine to me. Topps Tiles seem way overpriced. Thanks, Simon

With these tiles you normally find the cheaper they have the less quartz content and highter resin content in the tile. When I say cheap, I mean top quality one will cost £120 m2 upward. You will need a two part adhesive to stick them down, powder and liquid, NOT powder and water. This will be expensive, in the region of £50 for a bag plus bottle, which will only cover about 3.5 m2 when sticking tiles down. Do not use the cheap ones with underfloor heating or in wet areas, be careful in areas of bright sunlight. The cheap tiles have been known to curl up. Good luck and use a professional tiler for sound advice and to do the job.
