back boiler noise

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

Hi, Just bought a house with a very old baxi back boiler. I beleive it was installed in 1975. It's recently had a service. It makes a fairly loud gurgling sound all of the time. Even when both the water and heating are off. I am wondering if this is normal or if I need to get the gas man out to inspect it.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

try venting that is releasing air from the radiators with boiler off and from the lowest radiator first if that does not solve the problem .Then it may be kittling noise that can be solved by a de scaler put into the feed and expansion cistern in the loft
