Carpet coming up at gripper rods
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.31 PM
Hi, My carpet is coming up around the edges and wondered whether this is usually a refit job / redo underlay etc so I can get an idea on the severity and how soon I can get it done (afford to get it done!) Thanks Graham

if its a concrete/stone floor the problem may lie in the gripper rods have come away from the floor. most carpet fitters now opt to stick the grippers with a strong adhesive rather than just relying on the nails alone. depending on the age and condition of your carpet it may well just be a lift, re-stick and refit.

Unless your carpet is pulled up and had a brief look underneath... No one can be sure why it's lifting?? I would advise to get a second opinion by an expert,to give you a solution to your problem..best regards

I would opt for a restretch/refit as long as gripper rods are still secure
