How to insulate a single skin kitchen
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.57 PM
At some point an extension has been built to our house, which houses a kitchen in it. Inside, is a newly installed kitchen so insulating with battons and insulation isnt an option... How can the room be insulated from the outside? What sort of cost is associated with this and what is the process used to insulate the room from the outside? We hope to build onto this room one day also, is this possible given its only a brick thin with a pitched roof?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi
The easiest way would be to use an insulated render.
In the Manchester region at the moment there are numerous contractors that are doing / re-doing insulated render as part of an Eco grant. You may qualify for this. Even if you didn't this would be the easiest way to insulate without disturbing the internals. You may have to do something with the windows / doors and at the roof depending on the insulation system used.
Thanks
Jon
