after taking paint off woodwork, how can the white wood filler be covered but without using paint?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.57 PM

We have taken a couple of layers of paint off our 1930s balustrade etc but we are now left with a lot of old white wood filler. I am looking for a natural wood finish and wanted to use oil or wax so is there any way to cover the filler?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

i do not think you will able to get a perfect finish but what i would try is knotting thinned down with white sprite let dry might need two coats it should tone the filler down worth a try

i guess you need to work on the white filla untill its out or it is at least not as proud as the surrounding clean wood.you can overfill these areas with a woodstopper, this is like a ready mixed filla which is stainable. methods of removing filla ,sharp chisel, cabinate scrapper ,sharp knife.
