How to get rid of an airlock in a Potterton boiler

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.57 PM

I replaced a radiator and now the boiler seems to have an air lock. Does anyone know how to get rid of the air lock. Is possible if the central heating pump wasn't working that it would cause the boiler to overheat? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

If this doesn't work ^^ your best bet is to drain the hole system down as i have spent hours trying to get an airlock out before now. if i have an airlock now i just stick my flush machine on it. How ever if you didn't bleed the pump and have left it running for a while you may well over heat it. Get a engineer its not worth saving the money you will end up spending more. Ben

You will need to bleed the pump and allow the air out the auto air valve. Steven
