Slabbing in my back garden in Nottingham
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.57 PM
Hi I've recently brought 60sq meters of 600x600 slabs and what a rough price of how much I will get charged per sq meter to lay, and does it include sand and cement (Nottingham area)
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The site would have to be inspected,as the construction starts from ground up preparation,1)Dig out about 6inch in depth 2) Bring in hard core 3) Use a waker Plate to compact 4) screed of /compact /5) Lay slabs in cement bed
depending on how much cutting is require 6) Point up ? if this is done it would be easy to price I would say about £1000.00 with materials

Everything chris has said is correct, but the price is HUGELY wrong, 60 sq metres is going to be close to 7 tonne course sand (£65 per tonne including delivery) 8 bags cement per tonne (£6 a bag 25kg) if laid correctly 2 bottles of sbr (£20 each)
2 days to prep the area to be laid (£175 per person so x4 for 2 days)
Waka hire for 2 days £80 plus fuel
6 tonnea 803 (£60 a tonne with deliver, ammount depends on the level of the surface)
Laying alone will take 6 days includding cuts for 2 people so 12x £175!
Your job is HUGE and VERY labour/material intensive!
If you are chosing porcelain tiles, i hope you are rich!
