Best prep and paint for a concrete seating area (external).

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

Hi, I have an exterior concrete seating area cast onto a concrete pad (approx 4 to 6 in thick). I am tiling the base and intend to paint the wall sides of the seating. The tops will be clad with timber. Here is a link to a pic demonstrating the area: http://bit.ly/1Ai89F9 I am assuming I will need to seal at least the pad before tiling? Should I also seal the walls before applying some kind of paint? What kind of paint should I use for this externally? Any other prep I need to do? Thanks Chris

With any new concrete or plaster , always apply a miss coat first, this is essential !! allowing paint to penetrate into the substrate and not just sit on top, follow this with at least 2 full coats of a good quality exterior paint. dulux weathershield or johnstones stormshield
