Large hole in kitchen worktop covering

There are several large holes in the plastic covering of my kitchen worktop, I don't want to replace the whole worktop. I was just wondering if I could buy some plastic type sheeting and cut a square of out of the plastic covering that's on it and replace with a square of the new plastic covering? Where would I buy some of this plastic sheeting and what would I use to glue it on with? Thanks very much.

You need plastic laminate or formica. You should be able to get an off cut to an approx match from any good quality hardware/Diy shop (not B&Q Etc) you then need to cut to size and file the edges smooth and stick down with contact edhesive. Gary

To be honest there is nothing suitable for a kitchen worktop surface that will provide the fix you are looking for. The only suitable material is the material already used I.e the laminate

There are two basic options - contact your 'buildings insurer' and perhaps claim under - "fire damage" - for instance if you may have placed a hot pan on the worktop or Google a company known as 'the plastic surgeon' these people can repair work tops, laminate, upvc and baths..... Hope this helps....
