Bathroom Fitting

I am looking for a quiet, energy efficient extractor fan that can be fitted into a window.

We have very little wall space to fit an extractor, they only available space has a down pipe on the outside. I have been advised that we can get an extractor fan that will fit into a new window. I would like one that is quite and energy efficient.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Have you thought about fitting one in the ceiling? The quietest ones sit out of the way in the loft halfway down the duct between the bathroom and vent outlet.

I'd advise as above. Check the wattage of the fan and work out what it will cost to run. If you are charged 15p per kilowatt/hour then you are looking at an average fan power of 15W you can run the fan for 1,000hrs for 15p. A thousand hours is the equivalent of 41 days constant running for 15p. They are not pricey to run, but miles easier to fit through a wall or in the ceiling.
