Depends on the Handyman really... I wish they'd leave carpentry to carpenters though.
. They usually do semi-skilled smallish jobs, that you wouldn't necessarily call a trade in for, or don't need to be qualified for.
Search Handyman on google, find some sites, they usually list what they can do.
@ PMC Electrical, I wish every trade would stick to their own trade. Handymen (can't hang doors/lay floors properly or fit kitchens). The amount of times, we get 'we had a guy hang our front door but we cant close it, it's very drafty and leaks when it rains' can you repair it even though they've cut too much off the door. Or we had our kitchen fitted last year but the worktop, has started to bubble up on the joint or around the sink. Another 'we had our laminate floor laid, but it's very springy and creaks when you walk on it, we were told this would settle down'. Some Plumbers can be the bane of our lives, they get called in for a leak and seem to use a JCB/or Dynamite to take the floor up around our way.

how long is a piece of string !!! soe hanymen are just that 'handy' with a set of tools and a good diy knowlege. others on the other hand have expert skills in one or more trades but to keep a flow of work will put their skills into most jobs
on the other hand you wouldnt ask a chippy to build a wall or a bricky to plumb in a boiler

Handy Man or Handy Woman, do odd jobs that need little skill other than being practical they are no substitute for skilled tradesman who take many years learning their trade. so if you want some Garden rubbish cleared or your fence painting, maybe a picture hanging or your Gutters cleared general labouring jobs get a handyman. If you want Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical, Building, or Proper Decorating or any other trade get a tradesman in dont let someone bodge it! you get what you pay for in this world.
