How to repair brickwork aperture ready for new windows

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.57 PM

I'm looking to replace the windows in an old converted barn. The reveals of the apertures have been lined with thick timber which need to come off, when Ive started to remove said timber the line of brickwork underneath isn't smooth and solid, more crumbly and loose. Since cleaning the loose elements away I'm left with an uneven surface, so my question is; what can I fill the areas of the reveals with that will provide a strong and ideally structural base for the window fixings to penetrate? Thank you!!
