Stone slab garden in need of attention

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.31 PM

Hi... we are buying a house. the rear garden is mostly made of grey stone and red stone slabs with islands left for plants to grow. some stones are chipped, some broken, some out of place. its in a messy state basically. It is in a right old state currently and im wondering if a) its best to get it all removed (but then how much might it cost) and lay it down as a regular grass garden OR b) get it mended, cleaned, sorted. the problem is, i dont even know where to start or what to do or who to talk to first. Any advice?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would suggest the first thing would be to get a professional landscape gardener to come and have a look and give you some idea of what to do and the cost. If you posted the job on this website saying you needed a site visit you can then vet the replies. Hope this helps. Symply Landscapes

Hello there First of all if the slabs are all in bad condition they will be pretty hard to mend (and it wont look very nice if you did). You could either take up the slabs prep the ground and then lay turf, nothing looks better then laying fresh turf in the garden. You can buy this at around £3 a square meter. There are many different options and ideas, another is to use a decorative aggregate? It would also be more expensive to probably renovate the slab paving. If you have any more questions then please get in touch. We are more then happy to help. Kind Regards Thomas James Landscapes
